JEAN ELIZABETH Jean LISTON

LISTON, JEAN ELIZABETH Jean Elizabeth Liston in her 84th year, quietly passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital Saturday evening, May 25th, 2002. Born in Fredericton, NB, the daughter of the late Walter and Maude (Bustin) Kerr, wife of the late Clayton Durwood Liston. Jean was a graduate of the Provincial Normal School in 1937 and the University of New Brunswick in 1976. She was a school teacher for 35 years. A life long member of the St. Paul's United Church, she was a member of the UCW, the church choir and served as an elder. She was a yearly participator in the World Day of Prayer. Jean was an ardent curler, and a charter member of the Capital Winter Club and currently served as a club chaplain. In her later years she enjoyed lawn and carpet bowling. Her Favorite mode of transportation was her bicycle. A published short story writer and thoroughly enjoyed creative writing. She is survived by two sons, Timothy Clayton (Pam), James Hamilton (Brenda); one daughter Linda Maude Caroline Rivett all of Fredericton NB; grandchildren, Thomas (Krista) Liston, Toronto, Ont, Brent (Stacey) Liston, Keswick Ridge, NB, Dr. Heidi (Travis) Liston, Charleston, SC, Philippa Liston, Lake Louise, AB; Rebecca Liston and Mandy Lou Liston both of Fredericton, Trevor (Lisa) Rivett, Fredericton, NB and Lisa Rivett of Taiwan, one brother Walter (Manny) Kerr and two sisters Katherine "Dolly" (Ken) Blauveldt and Margaret Moore all of Fredericton NB. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Clayton; two sisters Helen Carr and Edythe Mills; brother George Willard Kerr and twin brother James Hamilton Kerr. There will be no visitation at the request of the family. A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 29th , 2002 at 2:00 pm at St. Paul's United Church. Rev. Paul Ross and Rev. David Fisher will officiate. A reception will follow the service in Fraser Memorial Hall at which time the family will be pleased to visit with you. Interment will take place in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial tributes made to St. Paul's Church Memorial or Capital Fund or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home are in charge of the arrangements. Besides her loving family, Jean will be mourned by many dear friends, and a special thanks to Dr. Plummer.
