NEIL GOODRIDGE MILLS

MILLS, NEIL GOODRIDGE The death of Neil Goodridge Mills of Fredericton, husband of Phyllis R. (Estey) Mills, occurred on Friday, March 28, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Fredericton, he was the son of the late William H. and Emma A. (Moody) Mills. Mr. Mills was formerly employed as an accountant with the Province of New Brunswick. A Veteran of World War II, Mr. Mills enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force, and served as a fighter pilot with the Royal Air Force in the Far East. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4, a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Air Force Association, and a member of the Canadian Fighter Pilot's Association. Mr. Mills was also a member of the Nashwaaksis United Church, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking. In addition to his wife of 56 years, Neil is survived by two daughters, Anne Trecartin (Stephen) of Fredericton and Sharon Hallett (Mark) of Fredericton; five grandchildren, Annalee Brewer (Dwaine) Denise Brown (Paul), Andrew Trecartin (Melissa Phillips), Carrie Hallett (Andrew Savoy), and Gregory Hallett; two great grandsons, Cameron Brewer and Logan Brewer; a special sister-inlaw, Evelyn Estey of Fredericton; and several nieces and nephews. Neil was predeceased by three brothers, Victor, Douglas, and Frederick; and by five sisters, Hildred Bledsoe, Dorothy Lindberg, Margaret Clarke, Beatrice Bell, and Audrey McClellan. Although there will be no visitation time, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service which will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 PM from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton North. Rev. Franklin Curtis and Rev. Gil MacKenzie will officiate. A reception will follow in York Funeral Home's Fireside Room. The honourary pallbearers are Ron Cornell, Danny Cameron, and Herb Hawkins. Interment will take place at a later date in the Douglas Rural Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Nashwaaksis United Church or to any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. A Royal Canadian Legion Tribute Service will take place at the conclusion of the funeral service. Personal condolences may be offered via www.yorkfh.com
