MURRAY SEYMOUR LANDERS

LANDERS, MURRAY SEYMOUR Landers, Murray Seymour-70, New Maryland, NB passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 22nd, 2003 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Sandford, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia he was the son of the late Howard and Ruth (Durkee) Landers. Murray retired in 1990 following a 40 year career with the Bank of Montreal in locations throughout the Atlantic Provinces. He was very active in each of these communities serving on various boards, organizations and clubs. Through the years, he enjoyed golfing, curling, baseball, long walks and a great love of people. He touched the lives of many. Murray is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ruth (Dingle), children and grandchildren Shawn, Julie and Matthew of Victoria, BC, Dean, Kelly and Grace of Fredericton, NB and Heather of Halifax, NS. He is also survived by his sister Evelyn Landers and brother Cecil "Budd" (Elizabeth) Landers both of Sandford, Yarmouth Co., NS and several nieces and nephews. Murray was also a devoted and loving husband, father and proud Papa to Grace and Matt. Though unable to speak in his later years, his eyes spoke volumes. He was a man of pride, courage, wisdom and ideals, faith and a man of honor. He will be sadly missed. Murray's family extends their thanks to the caring touch and compassion of special care givers Carol, Russell, Rita, Laura, Dr. Gordon Plummer, Yetta and Brenda, RN's with Extra - Mural Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday, July 25th, 2003 at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton, NB. Memorial service celebrating Murray's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 26th, 2003 at the New Maryland United Church. Rev. Gil Todd and Rev. Bob Stevens officiating. A reception will follow the service. Friends and relatives are invited to share in fellowship with the family. A private family burial will follow in the church cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the New Maryland United Church, NB Extra-Mural Program, Canadian Red Cross or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated. www.mcadamsfh.com
