GILBERT, MONICA GENE The death of Monica Gene Gilbert of Keswick Ridge Road, occurred as a result of a motor vehicle accident on December 8, 2003. Born in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of Catharine (Brewer) Gilbert of Keswick Ridge Road, and Danny Gilbert of Tripp Settlement Road. Following her graduation from Fredericton High School she went on to receive a BFA and a BAED at The University of Maine at Presque Isle. Monica was employed as a teacher by the St. Mary's Band at Leo Hayes High School where she enjoyed working with her students. She was affiliated with the Keswick United Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is survived by an infant daughter, Emma Gilbert; two brothers, Vernon and Nathan Gilbert of Keswick Ridge; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Juanita Brewer of Burtt's Corner and paternal grandmother, Elsie Gilbert of Nova Scotia. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton North, on Thursday evening from 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from the York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, Fredericton on Friday, December 12, 2003 at 2 pm with Rev. Jonathan McKay officiating. Interment will follow in the Keswick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital - Neonatal Unit or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
