WILFRED A. (RED CLEMENTS

CLEMENTS, WILFRED A. (RED, CLEM) Wilfred A. (Red, Clem) Clements passed away peacefully at his home on January 19, 2004 with his beloved wife of forty-eight years, Doreen (Delaney) and family at his side. Born in New Waterford, Cape Breton on May 20, 1935 to his now deceased parents Wilfred F. and Elizabeth (Carrigan) Clements, Red is survived by his proud children Levene (Jim) Hobbs of Innisfail, Alberta; Wilf of Hamilton, Ontario; Ronnie (Jacqueline) of London, Ontario; Colleen of Haneytown, New Brunswick; and Billy (Jennifer) of Thornhill, Ontario. A very special member of the Clements' family is selfproclaimed son, Dougie Kitchen of Hamilton, Ontario. Red is also survived by his special grandchildren Erin, Robbie, Delaney, Tara, Levene, Megan, Courtney, Ryan, Scott, Brett and Nick. His brothers and sisters Thomas, Freeman, Charles, Gary, Augusta, William, Edward, Ethel, Ella, Agatha, Emerance, Pauline and Dorothy also survive. Red's many nieces and nephews will remember their special uncle. His brothers, Russell and John, as well as three brothers who died in infancy, predeceased him. Red began working at #18 Colliery in New Victoria, Cape Breton. He joined the military (RHR) in 1957 and remained with the Unit until it disbanded. Red then joined the 2RCR, retiring as MWO in 1981. He re-enlisted with the RCIS (Atlantic), retiring in 1991,with the rank of Major. As a member of the Canadian Armed Forces, Red served in Cyprus, Germany and on Bases throughout Canada. Red was active in many sports and enjoyed his rounds of golf in his senior years. Anyone who knew Red knew how proud he was of his automobile to be always immaculately clean inside and out!! His family and friends have so many joyful memories of Wilfred (Red, Clem) Clements. Public visitation will take place at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Thursday, January 22 from 24 and 7-9. A Black Watch Service and Prayers of Remembrance will be held at the Funeral Home Thursday evening at 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Oromocto at 11 am on Friday, January 23 with Celebrant, Father Ken Weir. The Family requests No Flowers please and would appreciate donations to the Oromocto Extramural Care Program or charity of donor's choice. A private burial will take place at a later date.
