MCDONNELL, ANNE THERESA The death of Anne Theresa McDonnell of 656 McLeod Hill Road, Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Timothy Francis McDonnell, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on January 20, 2004. Born in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England on March 6, 1920, Anne was the daughter of the late James Robert and Mary Ethel (Gibson) Buston. She was a Staff Sergeant during the Second World War in the W.A.A.F. serving with the R.C.A.F. in Leeming, Yorkshire, England from 1940 to 1945. She is survived by two daughters, Penelope Anne and Colin Adsley, granddaughter Zoë and Michael Lenaghan and great-grandchildren Martha and Eddie Lenaghan and grandsons Vaughan and Brett Adsley, all of England; Mary Patricia and Peter Silk, grandsons Timothy and Joanne LeBlanc with great-grandchildren, Abbie and Jamie LeBlanc, and Ryan LeBlanc; step-grandchildren, Anna (Toronto), Mandy and Fred Silk, all of Fredericton; one son, Peter Robert and Gisèle McDonnell, granddaughters Kendra (Montreal) and Katrina McDonnell, grandsons Brennan and Andy McDonnell, all of Fredericton; InLaws Dulcie Buston (England), Kathleen English and Carmel Foley (Nelson-Miramichi), John and Kad McDonnell (Ottawa) and by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Anne is predeceased by her life-long love, husband Timothy Francis McDonnell; two brothers, Thomas (child) and Robert Buston; three sisters, Betty Jackson, Esther Floyd and Kate McMillan; one grandson, James Anthony LeBlanc and son-in-law Roger LeBlanc. Anne is the last surviving member of her immediate family. "Nanny", as she was known by many, cherished her family and her home, adored the family pets, her little spot at Grand Lake and enjoyed playing cards, dominos, scrabble, whatever, with her family and friends. Always a lady, her loving, kind manner will be missed by many. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, Royal Road, Fredericton on Friday, January 23, 2004 at 1:30 PM with Father John Jennings being the Celebrant. Internment will be at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Fredericton, NB. The family extends an invitation to a Celebration of Anne's Life following the Mass in St. Theresa's Church Hall. There will be no visitation at Anne's request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the J. I. Roger LeBlanc Scholarship Fund, the DECH Palliative Care Unit or charity of one's choice.
