KEITH IRWIN COLLINS
COLLINS, KEITH IRWIN Suddenly by accident May 24, 2004 in Quebec Keith Irwin Collins of Sussex, NB. Born October 21, 1963 in Stanley, NB. He was the youngest son of William and Bertha (Calhoun) Collins of Fredericton, NB. He was a graduate of Fredericton High School and spent many active years in Fredericton prior to moving to Sussex. He is survived by the light of his life - his son Nathan and his mother Libby Collins of Apohaqui; special friend Jamie Cook (and Keaton); two sisters Cheryl Morgan (Lloyd) Fredericton and Cindy Collins (Bob Burns) of Sussex NB; two brothers Stephen of Toronto, Michael of Fredericton; nephews Jason (Misty) Fredericton, AJ, Peter, Tristan of New Hampshire; nieces Jennifer Fredericton, Kelsie (KB) Burns Sussex. ' Predeceased by his grandparents John and Margaret Collins and Earl and Margaret Calhoun. An avid sportsman, Keith was extremely active in the Sussex sports community both as a player and a coach. He played hockey for the Sussex Moosehead Drys, Sussex Rangers and previously with Sussex Labatts Blue serving as captain for 5 years and played at the Annual World Pond Hockey Tournament. He played baseball for Arbing Equipment and football for Pizza Delight Silver Bullets. Keith also coached minor hockey, baseball and actively lent a helping hand in various sports and enjoyed gardening, hunting, and outdoor life. He was a Silviculture Technician with H.D.L. Logging, Sussex. Keith will be sadly missed by family and friends. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton NB, on Thursday from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday at 2 PM. Rev. Doug Cosman will be officiating, assisted by Pastor Derek Bartlett. The Interment will be held in the McGivney Cemetery. A reception will take place at the Fredericton Rugby Club, on Cityview Avenue at 5pm. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Keith Collins Memorial Sports Fund c/o Sussex Branch of Royal Bank, McGivney Cemetery Fund or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
