IRVINE MURRAY REED

REED, IRVINE MURRAY Irvine M. Reed of Springfield, York County, went to be with the Lord and precious loved ones on March 19, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital after a short illness. Born in Springfield on December 28, 1916, he was a son of the late Dow and Bessie (Clark) Reed. Irvine was a farmer as well as a butcher. He went to Boyce Market every week for sixty years, loving every minute of it. After he "retired", he began baking huge quantities of bread, which he sold to local stores in Fredericton as well as the market. He couldn't wait for the snow to melt so he could go to the woods with his chainsaw to cut more cedar. He has been a pillar in the Springfield Pentecostal Church since it's founding. His faithfulness was unparalleled. He will be greatly missed by everyone. Irvine was a man of integrity and all his children feel blessed to have had him as their Dad. He is survived by two daughters, Marvella Curtis (Charles), Springfield and Joyce Hatheway (Wayne), Dalhousie; chosen son, Terry Arbeau (Jane), Springfield, chosen son Ashley Arbeau (Cindy), Springfield; chosen daughter, Brenda Yerxa (Adam Peterson), Burtts Corner; two brothers, Rev. Howard Reed (Mary), Noonan and Rev. Dr. David Reed (Carlynn), Unionville, ON; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Irvine was predeceased by his wife, Grace (Corey) Reed on July 7, 2003; a son, Glendon and his wife Edith (Ketch) Reed; three brothers, Neil, Robert and Paul Reed and four grandchildren, Cynthia, Virginia, Christopher and Matthew Curtis. Resting at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic with visiting hours Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Sunset Church, Clements Drive, Fredericton on Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at 2p.m. Rev.
