
(MARY) JANE DARRAH
DARRAH, (MARY) JANE (Mary) Jane Darrah of Chipman, NB passed away Tuesday, March 29th, 2005 at the age of 100, at the Queens North Health Complex. Born July 3rd, 1904 at Hardwood Ridge, NB. Jane was the daughter of Duncan and Margaret (Kadey) Betts. Jane is survived by four grand children. Margaret Ann Harvey (George) Diane Lapointe, John McNeil, Earl McNeil (Eileen), seven great grand children, eight great-great grand children: stepchildren Gordon Murray, Maisie Chase, Ida Fairweather (Waldo), Hazel Randles (Bill), Archie Darrah (Rita), Bobby Darrah (Sharon), Alex Darrah (Barb), Carrie Darrah (Ray), Vera Protz, Marylou Dickinson (Randy), Johnny Darrah, several step grand children, step great grand children, step great great grand children, several nieces and nephews. Jane was the last surviving member of her family. She was predeceased by her husbands, William McNeill, Russell Murray and (Almond) Allie Darrah, one son William McNeill, and his wife Jean, one brother Vernon Betts, five sisters Betty Biddiscombe, Jemima Chase, Margueritte Hickey, Irene Brown and Ruby Bishop. Step children Willard Murray, Muriel Sweeney, Hazen Darrah, Lorna Hopkins and Basil Darrah. Jane was a faithful member of her religious group. Jane always said she had a good life, had worked in the dining room at Harvard University, Boston, cooked at lumber camps and made cookies and do-nuts at home to sell. She enjoyed baking, sewing, visiting and having visitors. Jane Darrah is resting at the CHIPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 28 Northrup Drive, Chipman, NB with visitation March 30th, 2PM to 4PM and 7PM to 9PM. Funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday, March 31st at 2PM. Interment will take place at the Red Bank Cemetery later in the spring.
