JONES, WILSON The death of Wilson Jones, of Sunset Dr., Fredericton, NB husband of the late Gwendolyn (Hovey) Jones occurred on Sunday, August 28, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Tay Falls, NB he was the son of the late James and Gussie (Wilkins) Jones. Wilson dedicated his life to work in the construction and forest industries. He learned all about hard work as a farm boy doing chores on the family farm in Tay Falls. He served with the Canadian Army during WWII, then establishing himself as a diesel mechanic and equipment operator locally and in projects ranging from Vancouver Island to Newfoundland. During the past number of years he and his son Larry started a forestry company, Tay Falls Lumber which still operates as a family supported business. Wilson loved the outdoors and was the happiest when fishing, hunting and gardening. The family wishes to thank all those volunteers, neighbours, friends and professional health care workers, including: the very supportive private home care workers at Bayshore Health Care, York Manor, Extra Mural Hospital, Oromocto Hospital, Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Dr. Anand Irrinki, Dr. John Beal, Dr. Tom Barry, Dr. Gregg Haines and the emergency staff. He is survived by two sons, Floyd Jones (Helen) of Douglas, NB and Larry Jones of Tay Falls, NB; one daughter Ardyth Moore (Larry) of Grande Cache, AB; five grandchildren, Stephanie Andrew, April, Jessica and Jeremy; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Pearl Brawn of Fredericton, NB and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, Wilson was predeceased by his step mother, Marinda (Evans) Monteith; three brothers, Norman, Percy and Raymond; three sisters, Violet Ashfield, Olive Bird and Florence Williams. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, August 30th. from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2 pm from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel. Interment will take place in the Douglas Rural Cemetery. Reception to follow burial in York Funeral Home's Fireside room. For those who wish remembrances to Welsh Heritage Trust (Cardigan Church) or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
