ORVILLE HARRY GRANT

GRANT, ORVILLE HARRY Orville H. Grant of Canterbury died as a result of a car accident on June 7, 2006 in Quispamsis, NB. Born at Woodstock, NB in 1949, he was a son of the late Howard and Barbara (Wright) Grant. Orville was employed with NB Telephone Co. Ltd. for 29 years. He worked in Fredericton, Campbellton, Grand Falls and Woodstock. After his retirement, he went to work with Rogers Cable and was working with them at the time of his death. Orville was a member of the Grand Falls Masonic Lodge and an Executive member of the Woodstock Legion, Branch #11. He was an active member and an Elder of St. Mark's United Church in Canterbury and he thoroughly enjoyed singing in the choir. Orville was an avid curler, fisherman, hunter and volunteer in his community but most important to Orville was his love for his family. He is survived by his wife, Deanna E. (Graham) Grant; his children, Shannon Grant, Halifax, NS, Karl Grant (Erin), Canterbury and Tammy McCrea, Fredericton; five grandchildren, Emily, Sydney, Jacob, Logan and James; three sisters, Olga Waddingham, New Maryland, Judy Keilty (Mike), Fredericton and Susan Furrow (Stephen), Canterbury; three brothers, Richard Grant (Bonnie), Dumfries, Neil Grant, Canterbury and Marvin Grant (Cheryl), Fredericton; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Resting at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic with visiting hours Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. RCL tribute service will be held at 6:15 p.m. followed by a Masonic Lodge service at 6:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held from St. Mark's United Church, Canterbury on Saturday, June 10, 2006 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Kendall Harrison officiating. Interment in Canterbury Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Wallace, Art Kelly, Mike Phillips and Rollie Lord. Active pallbearers will be Butch Barnes, Charles Shannon, Gordon Grant, Harry Grant, Carl Graham and Tom Shannon.
