BETTY JEAN TATTERSALL

TATTERSALL, BETTY JEAN The passing of Betty Jean Tattersall, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on May 22, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Born on October 25, 1924 in Colchester, Essex, England, she was a daughter of the late Albert West and Gertrude (Turner) West. Betty was a retired RNA from York Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of St. Mary's Anglican Church, the Fredericton Singing War Brides and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #4, Fredericton. Betty is survived by two daughters, Lynn Gould (Larry) of Burtts Corner and Jennifer Pawlyk (Bobby) of Edmonton, AB; two sons, Greg (Shelley) of Mactaquac and Phillip Tattersall of North Battleford, Saskatchewan; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Few (Roy) of Colchester, England; several nieces and nephews; pets, Charlie and Honey Bunny. In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Tattersall and companion of 15 years, Charles Stables; sister, Joyce Donalan; brothers, Charles, John and Peter West. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, May 24, 2008 from 7 to 9 pm. A Requiem Eucharist will be held from St. Mary's Anglican Church, McEvoy Street on Monday, May 26, 2008 at 11 am with Rev. Ian Wetmore officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery at a later date. The family wishes to thank Dr. Ronald J. Murphy, Dr. Carmen Stuart, Dr. Sydney Grant, Rev. Roger Richardson, Father Ian Wetmore, nurses and staff of the Palliative Care Unit. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the War Brides Scholarship, the Palliative Care Unit of the DECH or to the charity of the donor's choice.
