NANCY JANE McLELLAN

McLELLAN, NANCY JANE - Nancy Jane McLellan, age 51 of 7 Avondale Road, Colby Village, Dartmouth, N.S., died May 20, 2002 at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of Clayton "Nick" and Hope Nicolle, 226 Cranston Ave., Saint John, N.B. She was a member of the Douglas Avenue Christian Church and active in C.G.I.T. She graduated from Harbourview High School (formerly Saint John Vocational School) class of 1968. When residing in Saint John she was a former employee of the Saint John Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company and S. Norman Sancton & Son Ltd. Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family moved to Dartmouth, N.S. in 1986 and she owned and operated Nancy's Trophies and Awards Ltd. in Cole Harbour. Nancy had many interests which included Curling, Hockey, Baseball, Fastball, and Majorettes. She was a former member of the Carleton Curling Club. Her volunteerism included the Lancaster Little League, Lancaster Minor Hockey Assoc., Cole Harbour Bel-Ayr Minor Hockey Assoc., the Canadian Diabetes Assoc. She was also a great fan of the Halifax Mooseheads Major Junior Hockey Club. Nancy was an out-going person, with a keen sense of humour, and enjoyed entertaining her many friends and family. She never missed a summer vacation in Murray River, P.E.I. Surviving are her husband, Wayne D. McLellan; daughter Nicolle L. Halverson (Chris) Collingwood, Ont.; son Ryan J. McLellan, Cole Harbour; brother David Nicolle (Lisa) Quispamsis, N.B.; sisters Elaine Campbell (Ken), Saint John, N.B.; Barbara Hutton (Ron), Saint John, N.B.; only grand-daughter, Kailen Nicolle Halverson, Collingwood, Ont.; and several nephews and nieces. Visitation will take place2-4, 7-9 Wednesday at Altantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Thursday at the Anglican Church of St. Andrew's, Cannon David Reid officiating, assisted by Rev. David Nickelson. A reception will follow in the Atlantic Funeral Home Reception Center. The interment will take place 11 am Saturday at Greenwood Cemetery, N.B. Prayers will be conducted by Rev. David Nicolle. A reception will follow at the Carleton Curling Club, Rodney Street, Saint John West, N.B. Saint John arrangements entrusted to CASTLE"Fallsview" Funeral Home (634-1701). The family would like to sincerely thank the Doctors, Nursing staff, Support Staff and Volunteers of floor 7A, Palliative Care Unit, Cancer Clinic staff, Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre, and the V.O.N., Halifax. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
