LARRY KEATING

KEATING, LARRY - Tragically as a result of a motorcycle accident in Saint John, on Sunday, August 4, 2002, Lawrence Alfred Keating, age 22, of Saint John, formerly of Quispamsis. He was born in Saint John, the son of Lawrence (Larry) and Rosemary (Donnelly) Keating of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, formerly of Quispamsis and Saint John. Larry lived most of his life in Quispamsis and was a graduate of KVHS, a former student of UNBSJ and would have been entering his second year at NBCC Saint John Campus, studying to become a Mechanical Engineering Technologist. He was a member of St. Mark's Parish and a former member of the Boy Scouts. Larry played and refereed for many years in the Quispamsis Minor Hockey League. He was an avid hunter, enjoying camping, golfing, and travelling with his family. Surviving in addition to his parents are a brother, Paul of Saskatoon, a sister Mary Ann who is currently working in Mozambique, paternal grandmother Mrs. Evelyn Keating of Saint John, a godson Jamie Thompson of Saint John, several aunts, uncles, cousins and a special friend Allyson Hayward. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather Lawrence Keating, maternal grandparents Paul and Frances Donnelly and an aunt Susan (Keating) Thompson. Resting at CASTLE "King's Chapel" Funeral Home, 154 Old Hampton Road, Rothesay (849-1702). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, August 10 at St. Marks Catholic Church in Quispamsis. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Saint John. Visiting at "King's Chapel" on Thursday and Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. both days. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
