
GILBERT J. BRINKMAN
BRINKMAN, GILBERT J. - Presque Isle. Gilbert J. Brinkman, 80, died September 4, 2002 at a Presque Isle health-care facility. He was born March 16, 1922 in New Denmark, New Brunswick, Canada, the son of William E. and Johanna (Jensen) Brinkman. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Presque Isle and past member of the Knights of Columbus. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces during World War II. Mr. Brinkman enjoyed gardening and being with his family. He is survived by two sons, David Brinkman and his wife Theresa of Windham, Andrew Brinkman and his wife Candace of Drummond, New Brunswick, Canada; three daughters, Patricia Brinkman of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Paula Brennan and her husband Thomas of Hinesburg, VT, Mary Jane Holden and her husband Dale of Falmouth; 9 grandchildren, Abbie, Erik, Luke, Joseph, Malachi, Daniel, Liam, Jenny and Michael; three brothers, Norval Brinkman and Anders Brinkman both of Ontario, Canada and Robert Brinkman of New Brunswick, Canada; two sisters, Edith Hendricksen of New Denmark, New Brunswick, Canada and Doris Murray of Ontario, Canada and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Georgine (Levesque) Brinkman in 1996. Friends may call from 6-9PM Friday and one hour before service on Saturday at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:00 PM Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Lequin officiating.
