BANKIEWICZ, DOROTHY (CARTON) - The death of Dorothy (Carton) Bankiewicz occurred Nov. 25, 2002 at Columbus, Ohio after a period of failing health. Born in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Arthur W. and Catherine (Murphy) Carton. She was a graduate of St. Vincent's Girls' High School and the New Brunswick Provincial Normal School. She pursued a teaching career at local schools and in the United States. Survived by her husband, Michael Bankiewicz; three daughters, Cathy Hackett (Michael;) Ellen Neutzling (Frank;) and Marie Elting; one sister, Mary Carton of Saint John; one brother Dr. Kevin Carton of Brunswick, Maine; four grandchildren, Frank, Andrew, Robert and Michael, as well as a number of nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother Joseph Carton. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Schoendinger Funeral Home, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio, 43221. The funeral will be held Saturday, Nov. 30 to St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 1860 Northern Road in Columbus, with interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
