GATES, JASON R. - Unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, December 17, 2002 Jason Rhett Gates of Saint John West, N.B. Born in Saint John he is the son of Diane Cormier of Prince of Wales, and Bob Gates (Sandra Hewey) of Lorneville, N.B. Jason had pursued studies and obtained various degrees in the computer science field at the University of New Brunswick Saint John Campus, before relocating to California where he worked for a few years and then returned home to Saint John recently. In addition to his parents Jason is survived by his maternal grandparents Donville & Vivian Cormier of Saint John West, brother Rob and his wife Heather, their children Natasha & Briar, sister Stacey and her husband Roy, their children Megan & Kristen, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jason was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Darrell & Audrey Gates. Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, West Saint John, N.B. (506-634-1701) from where the visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2002 at 1:00pm at St. George's Anglican Church. The interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. An Honorary Pallbearer to be named for this service is Nazar Gonta. In lieu of flowers, remembrances or donations may be made to the IWK Childrens Hospital Foundation or to St. Anne's Preservation Committee.
