VAN DER LAAN, GRIETJE (GRACE) - God, in His great wisdom, chose to take home His faithful servant Grietje (Grace) van der Laan, age 59, wife of the late Jan (John) van der Laan, Norton, NB. Her death occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, May 3, 2003. She was the daughter of Griet (Pynacker) and the late Jan de Jong. Grace is survived by daughter; Margriet and Chris Woodill, Darlings Island, sons; Jacob Frank and Julie, Norton, and Neil and Chantal, Sackville, eight grandchildren, brothers; Eelko and Geertje de Jong, Kor and Gea de Jong, sisters; Riekje Dykstra and Evert Malestein, and Alie and Henk Bredenhoff, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Resting at Sherwood's Funeral Home, (839-2156) Norton, with visiting Tuesday, 5 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held from Norton Wesleyan Church, 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2003, followed by interment at Riverbank Cemetery, Riverbank, NB.
