CULLEN, PATRICK JOSEPH (JOE) - With deep sadness, the family announces the death of Patrick Joseph (Joe) Cullen of Medicine Hat, AB, at the D.E.C. Hospital, Fredericton on July 14, 2003, after a brief illness. Born in Bath, NB, on March 18, 1949, he was the son of Frances (Kinney) Cullen and the late Peter Cullen (1988) of Johnville, NB. He will be greatly missed by his mother, Frances of Johnville, Brothers, Emery of Bonneyville, AB, Jim (Eileen) of Saint John, NB, John, George (Lois), Dennis (Nancy) all of Johnville, Douglas (Marla) of Mackenzie, BC, Kevin (Cathy) of Cambridge, ON, Sisters, Theresa (Ron) Denny of Johnville, Jeanne (Larry) van Keule of Medicine Hat, Patricia (Eamonn) Brennan of Bath, Sandra (Jim) Sopko of Rycroft, AB, Uncle, Harold Cullen of Boston, Mass, many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends. Known as Pat to his friends and colleagues in Alberta, he was "Joe" to his family and friends in New Brunswick. He graduated from Bath Regional High School, St. Francis Xavier University, University of NB and spent 26 years in a teaching career in Spirit River and Medicine Hat, AB. Joe treasured his family, colleagues, students, Irish heritage, faith and the beloved hills of Johnville where he spent as much of his time as possible. His idea of a vacation was early morning fishing for trout, enjoying his Mother's cooking, and engaging anyone who dropped in for a visit in a spirited debate on a wide range of topics. He was an avid reader, historian, and genealogist. Joe left a wealth of information for many others to appreciate. Resting at Kilcollins Funeral Home, Bath, NB, visiting Thursday July 17, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday July 18, 2003 at 11:00 AM from St. John The Evangelist Church, Johnville, Rev. Keith Nielsen will officiate. Interment will take place in the Johnville Cemetery. If so desired, memorial tributes may be made to the Martin Kilfoil Memorial Fund or a charity of Donor's choice.
