Jan. 22, 1961-Aug. 19, 2008 Austin, Tex./Sydney It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Steve MacMillan in Austin, Tex., Aug. 19, 2008, at the age of 47. Born in Ottawa, he was the son of Raymond and Marion (Whitty) MacMillan. Steve was employed with Maskina Telecommunications in Austin, Tex., for the past 10 years. He had a love for animals and a passion for hockey and blues music and was an accomplished musician. Steve is survived by his wife, Shelly (Plumridge); children, Nicole and Matthew, both at home; parents, Raymond and Marion MacMillan, Alberta; sisters, Sindy (Roger) Bell, Texas, Colleen (Sean) Garrigan, Saskatchewan; brother, Tim, Ottawa; and several nieces and nephews. He will also be dearly missed by Heather and Tom Plumridge as he was the son they never had. Steve was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Margaret and Jim Whitty and his paternal grandparents, Mary and Ted MacMillan. The family would like to thank Christopher House Hospice in Austin, Tex., for their amazing care in his last month. A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at a later date.
