CHRISTIE, BENJAMIN ARTHUR - The death of Benjamin "Ben" A. Christie occurred at his home in Fredericton, NB on Friday, May 21st, 2004. Born in Fredericton, NB on February 8th, 1975, he was the son of Ron and Mary (Stewart) Christie. Ben graduated from F. H. S. in 1993. He was an excellent student and athlete who wanted to excel in all his endeavours. He worked with his father as a Park Manager for East Coast Holdings. Ben loved playing basketball, boating and was also an avid reader. Family and friends were very important in Ben's life. He loved to four-wheel drive with his father, seek advice from his mother, tease his sister and he adored Angela. He enjoyed sharing his philosophical views about life with anyone who would listen. Ben would have wanted us to remember him with happiness and fond memories not with heavy hearts, for that was how he lived his life. Ben is survived by his parents, Ron and Mary (Stewart) Christie of Fredericton, NB; sister, Sarah Christie of Fredericton, NB; maternal grandfather, Marshall Stewart of St. George, NB; paternal grandmother, Hilda Christie of Lake Utopia, NB; girlfriend, Angela Cullins of Fredericton, NB; Aunts and Uncles, Malcolm and Karen Stewart of Salisbury, NB, Don and Linda Stewart of St. George, NB and Melvin and Linda Mawhinney of Saint John, NB and several cousins and friends. Predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Frances Stewart and his paternal grandfather, Arthur Christie. Visitation will be held at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home on Saturday, May 22nd, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Sunday, May 23rd, 2004 from 2-4 pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Peter's Anglican Church on Monday, May 24th, 2004 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Dr. Ross N. Hebb officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations made to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
