DR. GORDON LLOYD GOULDING

GOULDING, DR. GORDON LLOYD - Dr. Gordon Lloyd Goulding, 74 of Wolfville passed away June 18, 2004 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, NS after a lengthy illness. He was loved and respected by his family and many friends. Dr. Goulding was educated at Grand Falls Academy, Grand Falls, NL. He taught school in Windsor, NL in a one room school house. He entered into Pre Med at Memorial University of Newfoundland in St. John's NL. He graduated from Dalhousie Medical School in 1954. After serving as a medical officer in Gagetown, NB, Aldershot, NS and Shiloh, MB Dr. Goulding did Anesthesiology residency training in Bedford, England. Upon returning to Halifax, NS he joined the medical staff at the Halifax Infirmary where he practiced with the Halifax Anaesthesia Associates until 1994 when he retired to Wolfville, NS. He was a past member of the Nova Scotia Medical Society, the Canadian Medical Association, the Canadian Anesthesiology Society and a member of the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron. He was a gentle man who was passionate about cars, boats, running water, kittens and small dogs. Born in Grand Falls, NL., he was a son of the late Harold and Loulla (Loveridge) Goulding. He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue (Phinney); sons Dr. Tom Goulding and his wife Ella, St. Stephen, NB; Dr. Jim Goulding and his wife Denise, Victoria, BC; brother Franklin and his wife Barbara, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL; sisters Joy (Mrs. Ray Pretty), Grand Falls-Windsor, NL; Una (Mrs. Charlie Cook), St. John's, NL; grandchildren Gordon, Sarah, Andrew, David, Nicole, and Michael; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife Mona Hounsell and sister Una Grace. Special thanks to the Heart Function Clinic and the medical ward staff at the Valley Regional Hospital, Dr. Wayne Phillips, Dr. David Marsters and Dr. David Hirch. Cremation has taken place. By personal request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A grave side service will be held in the family plot at a later date in Grand Falls, NL. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart Function Clinic at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville or the Renal Clinic at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Services Center V.G. Site.
