
ISABEL M. THOMPSON
THOMPSON, ISABEL M. - The death of Isabel M. (Jones) Thompson, wife of the late Louis William Thompson, occurred July 18, 2004 at the Turnbull Nursing Home, Saint John. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Montgomery (Sr.) and Marion Rosalind (McNutt) Jones. Isabel was employed as Office Manager at Excelsior Life Insurance until her marriage. After which she worked with her husband in establishing Thompson's General store in Loch Lomond. She was a former Maritime badminton and tennis champion and a member of the Riverside Golf and Country Club, who was active in community activities especially recreation. She was a member of the International Order of the Daughters of the Empire, and a member of Trinity (Anglican) Church, Saint John. She is survived by three sons: Malcolm L. (Darla) of Dallas, Texas, and William M. (Cathy) Thompson of Saint John, Alexander S. (Joanne) Thompson of Saint John; one daughter Norma L. (Peter) Kelly, also of Saint John; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews, and her sister Margaret (Don) McLean of Montreal, Quebec. She was predeceased by her brother, Hugh Montgomery "Mac" Jones, Jr. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424), where visiting will be held on Monday, July 19, 2004 from 7-9 pm. Tuesday, July 20, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A private family Funeral will be held Wednesday. Interment to take place in Fernhill Cemetery following cremation.
