She was a great listener who was slow to give advice but once given it was worth heeding. Her doors were always open to family and friends and you could always count on being treated to a great home cooked meal. She was always ready to challenge anyone who dared to a game or two of cribbage. Elizabeth was very willing to look after her mother-in law in her later years, her mother and father in their later years, and made a home for her brother Charlie for many years until his death in 1993. Married in 1942, she took on the challenge of a 16 year old daughter and became mother and later grandmother as though all these children were born to her. She enjoyed knitting and supplied many children with warm mitts and sweaters. If not knitting, you might find her laboring over a jigsaw puzzle in her front porch. Many conversations were had while helping with those puzzles. There was always a dog, cat or both, all of which she had taken in from someone who could not for some reason, keep them. They all got the royal treatment. She loved children and got great pleasure out of watching them play. The Culberson Funeral Home 188 Connell Street , Woodstock, New Brunswick were in care of the Funeral Arrangements.
