Sing Lang Au
Passed away suddenly at North York General Hospital, Ontario, July 12, 2008, age 69 years. Sing Lang is predeceased by his beloved wife Julie (Yu Fung Ching) and cherished son Sunny (Sun Wei); and dear parents Wing Chong and Yee See Au. Sing Lang leaves to mourn his five loving daughters, Susan (Nick Fitzpatrick), Madeline (Tom Kavanagh), Calline, Natalie (Steve Short) and Cindy (Brad Stone); brother Sing Chong (Cindy Taylor); sisters Phui Hui (Don Power) and Phui Jean (Bill Coady); five grandchildren Jaedyn, Meghann, Tristan, Corbin and Riley; nieces and nephew Krystina, Courtney and Shane; brothers- and sisters-in-law Ben, Cynthia, Linda, Kenneth, Amy and Raymond Yu in Montreal; cousins Bik and Howley Lee in Winnipeg; very dear and close friends Christine and daughter Janice Ho and family in Toronto; and a large circle of relatives, friends and business associates in Newfoundland and Ontario. Among his many accomplishments, he was a successful entrepreneur, past executive of N.L. Chinese Association and recipient of the 125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada Medal for his significant contribution to his fellow citizens and community. He was loved immensely and will be forever missed by his family and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Wednesday and Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service to take place on Friday, July 18, 2008 at 10 a.m. from Gower Street United Church.
