
TANYA ELAINE SHAW
SHAW, TANYA ELAINE - The tragic death of Tanya Elaine Shaw 22, occurred as a result of a highway accident on the evening of June 30th on Route 108 near Plaster Rock, N.B. Formerly of Plaster Rock, Tanya was residing in Moncton at the time of the accident. Tanya was the eldest daughter of Dana Shaw (Sherry Pelletier) of Plaster Rock, and Sherry Shaw-Green (Calvin Green) of Moncton. Tanya graduated from Tobique Valley High School in 2000 and attended University of New Brunswick until graduating with her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 2004. Tanya was a very vibrant, fun loving girl who was always willing to help in any way she could. She worked as a sales representative part time at Sears Catalogue office starting at the age of 13. From there she went to work at J.R.'s Take Out in summer months as a waitress and short order cook until she was appointed staff manager in 2002. Tanya attended university during school months and managed J.R.'s during her summer off until graduating year, at which time she went to work for Shaw Insurance, also in Plaster Rock, and also owned by Tanya's father, Dana Shaw. She worked at her father's insurance office from May 2004 until May 5, 2005. During that time she wrote and successfully passed her insurance brokers license in June 2004. From there she continued to strive for her CAIB designation to which Tanya had achieved 3 of 4 courses required for this designation. Tanya was planning to have this completed by November of this year. On May the 9th Tanya took a position with Sears Insurance, Moncton, in their Cap Pele office. Tanya loved her new job and loved being in Moncton close to boyfriend, family and friends. Tanya was in the process of moving into a new apartment and was very excited about her future. Tanya embraced life and enjoyed many simple pleasures of life, like walking on the beach, babies, puppies, kittens and any furry critter that she could cuddle. One of her life's biggest highlights was her trip to the Caribbean in 2004 for her graduation present, which she shared with Amanda Levesque, one of her best friends. She loved family and friends dearly, and was such a pleasure to be around that all who knew her, no matter how briefly, were touched by her bright sunny spirit and her beautiful smiling face. Tanya is survived by two sisters , Andrea Shaw, Moncton, and Emily Pelletier, Plaster Rock; two brothers, Perley Shaw, Plaster Rock and Jamie Green, Grand Prairie, Alberta. Tanya was the granddaughter to the late Perley Shaw and Marguerite Shaw, residing in Plaster Rock, and James and Bernice La France, Tilley, N.B. Extended grandparents are Monty and Linda Ruff, Oxbow, N.B. and Reedorn and Darlene Green, New Denmark, N.B. Tanya leaves behind her boyfriend, many uncles, aunts, cousins, and her dear friends. Visitation was held July 2, 2005 at Tanya's home town church, The First Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Plaster Rock of which Tanya's uncle is the pastor, Rev. & Mrs. Dana McKillop. Funeral Services were held July 3rd at 11a.m, also at the church and interment was held at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Denmark, N.B. Pallbearers were Tanya's first cousins, Daniel McKillop, Plaster Rock, Damon McKillop, Plaster Rock, Jason Corbin, Sisson Ridge, N.B, Ryan Corbin, Weaver, N.B., Tony La France, Tilley, N.B. and Travis Sullivan, Aroostock, N.B.
