FERGUSON, ERIC WILLIAM - The death of Eric W. Ferguson of Burton, NB occurred at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Saturday, September 23rd, 2006. Born in Tangier, Halifax County, NS, he was the son of the late Percy S. and Hattie B. Ferguson, and husband of Shirley Marie (Smith) Ferguson. Eric was a member of the RCMP for many years and was also the Police Chief in Saint John, NB for some time. He was a member of Parliament from Saint John, NB and worked as the Director of Security for the Province of New Brunswick. He was known by many as the proprietor of Old Orchard Crafts in Burton, NB. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; children, Jonathan Ferguson, Kimberley Ferguson (Charles Tait), Deborah Ferguson (William Richards), Colin Ferguson, J. Jill Ferguson, Melissa Ferguson and T. Kent Ferguson; step-son, Stephen Smith; and his grandchildren, Chelsi Ferguson, Kelly Fowler, Ashley Ferguson, Ryan Ferguson, Justine Laporte, Quinn Mjolsness, Jayde Laporte, Geoffrey Tait, Durham Laporte, Dylan Ferguson, Joshua Ferguson, Calissa Ferguson and Kyle Ferguson.
