
HAYWARD JAY
JAY, HAYWARD - Hayward Joseph Jay, of Plaster Rock, NB (Anfield) passed away peacefully at the Veteran's Wing of the Grand Falls Manor on August 2, 2007. Born in Riviere-Bleue, Quebec, on September 5, 1921, he was the son of the late Albert and Lena (Doucette) Jay. Hayward leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Monica Jay (Hudon); daughter, Cynthia Mulherin (Daniel) of Banff, AB; his son, Kevin Jay (Marie) of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; sisters, Nora Northrup of Plaster Rock, Velma Brown of Nackawic, Theresa Wark (Doug) of Plaster Rock; his grandchildren, Bruce, Bradley, Rosalind, and Hillary. Having served in WWII with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles, Hayward was wounded during the invasion of Normandy. Hayward was an avid sports fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and curling. He was Past President of the Plaster Rock Golf and Curling Club and the Legion. Hayward was employed in a management capacity in the lumbering industry and was a long service employee of Fraser Companies. Resting at Tobique Chapel in Plaster Rock with visitation on Monday from 3 to 8pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at 2pm from St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Plaster Rock. For those who wish, donations to the NB Alzheimer's Society, the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 29, or the Veteran's Wing of the Grand Falls Manor would be appreciated by the family.
