ARCHER, ROBERT (BOB)R. - Robert (Bob) Reginald Archer, 74, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2008, at the Ridgewood Veterans Unit, Saint John. Born in Saint John he was the son of the late Harry and Dorothy (Bell) Archer. Bob was a Korean War Veteran and was trained in Unarmed Combat. He later worked at Irving Pulp and Paper Ltd until he retired in 1992. When he was younger, Bob was an avid hunter. He loved to tell jokes and he enjoyed Yard Sales and collecting coins. He also enjoyed dancing and BBQ's. As a life long resident of Grand Bay-Westfield, he helped others in need by offering his home and meals to anyone was down on their luck. He loved Julian Austin (Canadian Country Artist) and is named in the veterans song "The Red & White". He later began to promote the "Support the Troops" campaign. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara (Dunn) Archer, daughter, Roseanne (Roger) Lewis of Saint John, NB, son Robbie (Linda) Archer of Quispamsis, NB, daughters, Crystal (Roger) Bordage and Tammy Archer both of Grand Bay-Westfield, NB. Bob had Four Grandchildren, Eric and Katrina of Grand Bay-Westfield and Jackie and Gregory of Grand Manan, NB. Also survived by two brothers, Donald, and Douglas (Dora) Archer, both of Saint John; and one sister, Betty Arsenault, Moncton. Besides his parents, Bob was Predeceased by brothers, Kenny and Gordon Archer. The family would like to thank the Staff and nurses at Ridgewood and especially the "Blue & Green" girls. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation and no service at Bob's request. Instead, the family would like to invite guests to drop by and celebrate his life at 53 Thompson Road, Grand Bay-Westfield on Saturday, between the hours of 2 pm and 7pm.
