RUTH LILLIAN (GALBRAITH) BRITTAIN

BRITTAIN, RUTH LILLIAN (GALBRAITH) - Passed away on Wednesday, October 01, 2008 at the St. Joseph's Hospital, after a period of failing health. Born on October 27, 1913, she was the daughter of the late H. Leonard and Mabel (McCavour) Galbraith and wife of the late G. Coster Brittain. Ruth attended the Brethren Assembly. She was employed with the department of Social Services NB, until her retirement in 1978. She is survived by her two sons, Harry (Dianne) and Hugh (Rosalie); daughter, Cynthia (David) Buckle; daughter-in-law, Glenna Brittain; 10 grandchildren, Andrew (Lori) Buckle, Rosalyn (Craig) Nickerson, Nancy (John) McGuire, Janet (Tim) Lincoln, Christine (Robert) Campbell, Dr. John (Heather) Brittain, Stephen (Jennifer) Brittain, Jennifer (Rick) Frenette, Scott Brittain and Lindsay (Serge) Vautour; 21 great grandchildren; sisters, Elsie Thomas, Saint John, NB and Eleanor Kennedy, of London, Ontario. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son, B. Bruce Brittain. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Ave., (634-1701) visitation will take place on Thursday, October 02, 2008 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, October 03, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 04, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from Castle Funeral Home, "Fallsview Chapel". Interment to follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Donations, in memory of Ruth, may be made to the St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
