JONES, CARL WILSON - The passing of Carl Wilson Jones of Fredericton, NB, husband of Marjorie (Lank) Jones, occurred on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on January 27, 1930 in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Lois (Wilson) Jones. He was a member of St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church. Carl was a Veteran of WWII; he served overseas in the Merchant Navy. Carl enjoyed puzzles, horseshoes, pool, gardening and hunting. In addition to his wife, Carl is survived by his daughters, Carol Ann Thorn (Paul) and Mary Ellen Atwin; son, Stephen Ronald Jones; grandchildren, Jody Wagstaff (Jen), Tanya Smith (Shawn), Allyson Atwin, Vanesa Thorn, Matthew Jones, Michael Jones and Christopher Jones (Kathryn); great grandchildren, Lyrik Wagstaff, Foster Smith, Tristan Jones and Serena Jones; brother, Kenneth Jones and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Carl was predeceased by his sons, Michael and Gary; sister, Elanor Verner and brothers, Donald and Malcolm Jones. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, September 27, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church on Monday, September 28, 2009 at 11 am with Father John Jennings as celebrant. A private family graveside service will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Saint John, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be to the charity of the donor's choice.
