
CLAUDE TONER
TONER, CLAUDE - At the Grand Falls General Hospital, October 3, 2009, Mr. Claude Toner of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 63 years. He was the husband of Susan (formerly Rideout). Born at Grand Falls in 1946, he was a son of the late Frank and Gertrude (Kilfoil) Toner. Mr. Toner was well known in the Grand Falls community where he operated a potato farm for over 40 years. He farmed for 30 years with his brother, Conrad until his nephew, Terry joined the farm in 1999. His daughter, Sarah also joined the farm in 2004. He was extremely passionate about his work as a farmer. He was also the president of Toner Realty Limited. Besides his wife, he leaves behind five daughters, Christina (Denis Desjardins) of Grand Falls, Bethany (Carlo Castonguay) of Saint- Andre, Sarah (David Morrison) of Grand Falls, Katherine (Yemane Muzey) of Moncton and Emily of Grand Falls; five grandchildren, Dayna, Deanna, Isabelle, Annie and Violet. He also leaves behind seven brothers and five sisters, Wilfred (Julie) of Grand Falls, Jean Brennan (late Bill) of Johnville, Frederick (Anita) of Saint-Joseph-de-Kamouraska, Quebec, Mark (Rita), Brian (Laureen) of Grand Falls, Sister Margaret Toner, sister of charity, of Saint John, Clara (Maurice Ouellette) of Longueuil, Quebec, Marie (Victor Godbout) of Moncton, Thomas "Timmy" (Carmelle), Conrad (Linda), Earl (Irma) and Donna (Michelle), all of Grand Falls; mother-in-law, Joyce Rideout of Grand Falls; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law of the Rideout family; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant sister, Georgina. Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. His funeral service will be held Monday, October 5th at 2 pm from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls with a nephew, Father Bill Brennan, officiating.
