
Rev. Max Nesbitt
Rev. Max Nesbitt 1925-2002 NESBITT, Rev. Max - 76, Dartmouth, NS passed away June 29, 2002 at the QEII after a brief illness. Born July 6, 1925 in Belfast, Northern Ireland he was ordained in The Baptist Union of Great Britain and Ireland in 1952. He pastored in Manchester, England, Black's Harbour United Baptist Church, NB; O'Leary United Baptist Church Charge, PEI; Hillside United Baptist Church and West Lane United Baptist Church, Moncton, NB; Pioneer Charge (Southampton/Mapleton) United Church, NS; Holy Trinity Congregational Christian Church, Miramichi, NB; and served alongside his wife, Phyllis, at Good Shepherd Congregational Christian Church, Lawrencetown, NS. Max also served as a volunteer Chaplain at Dorchester Penitentiary. After his retirement he attended Regal Road United Baptist Church where he continued to serve through the Senior's Ministry and a Men's Bible Study. Max sang in several Male Voice Choirs in both Northern Ireland and Canada. He is survived by his wife, Rev. Phyllis (Elliott); daughters, Maxine (Paul) Harris, O'Leary, PEI; Muriel (Bob) Ingalls, Moncton, NB; Kimberley (John) Burke, Barrie, ON; son, Rick F.T. (Angela), Moncton, NB; step daughter, Kimberly (William) Smith, North Reading MA, ten grandchildren, two step grandchildren; sister, Peg (James) McCue Rexdale, ON as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins in both Canada and Northern Ireland. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, four sisters, and his first wife Dorothy (Johnston). Memorial Services will be held at Hillside United Baptist Church, 2290 Mountain Road, Moncton, NB on Thursday July 4 at 7pm with Rev. Jerry Reddy officiating and at Regal Road United Baptist Church, on Saturday, July 6 at 3pm. Dr. Frank J. Guinta Jr. officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Regal Road United Baptist Church, Dartmouth, NS or a Christian organization of your choice.
