Vera L. Cameron 1912 - 2003 MIRAMICHI, NB - Mrs. Vera Leona Cameron, widow of Frank F. Cameron, of the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home, and formerly of Loggieville, passed away at her residence, on Thursday, April 17, 2003, at the age of 91. Born in Lower Napan, she was the daughter of the late MacKnight (Mac) and Edith (Sweezey) Gilliss. She was a homemaker; a member of Knox United Church, and had attended St. Andrews United Church in the past several years. She was a Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Branch # 3, Royal Canadian Legion and a former member of the Auxiliary Dart League. Vera was an accomplished quilter and over the past several decades had made quilts for all her children and grandchildren. She is survived by five daughters, Agnes Walls (Bill) and Ethel Lockerbie (John), all of Miramichi, Edith Gammon (Peter) and Lois Keoughan (James), all of Bathurst, and Jean Clements (Ray) of Halifax, N.S.; four sons, James Cameron (Lynne) of Truro, N.S., Archie Cameron of Montreal, Brian Cameron (Anne) of Kentville, N.S., and Lloyd Cameron of Miramichi; one sister, Annie O'Donnell of Miramichi; 21 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank, in 1987; one daughter in law, Diane Cameron; one grandchild, Glen Cameron; two sisters, Louise Jardine and Ethel MacFarlane; one brother, Leonard Gilliss. Visiting will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Friday evening, from 7-9 pm, and on Saturday, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Andrews United Church on Sunday, April 20, 2003 at 3 p.m, conducted by Rev. Charlene Maguire. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery later in the spring. Please note, members of the Ladies Auxiliary, Branch # 3, Royal Canadian Legion, are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon at 3 pm for a service. The family has requested, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home would be appreciated.
