William Blair Pond

William B. Pond 1933 - 2004 The death of William Blair Pond, 70 years, husband of Mercy (Murray) of Richmond Ave Moncton occurred at his residence on Monday January 12, 2004. Born in Ludlow NB May 14 1933 he was the son of the late Lloyd and Mable (Price) Pond. Bill had been employed with New Brunswick Electrical Power Commission for many years before becoming self employed in the electrical field operating Bill Pond Sales. He had been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Moncton Branch for 50 years and he was Past Master and secretary of Acacia Lodge #49 F and AM Moncton he was also a member of the Illuminating Engineers Society. In addition to his wife Mercy he is survived by one son Major William Pond Jr. (Linda) of Kingston, ON; two grandchildren Matthew and Leanne and three step grandchildren Daniel, Katy and Anna. One brother Douglas Pond (Karen) of Edmonton; three sisters Patricia Beers (Jonathan) of Rexton; Rev Greta Smith of St Georges, Bermuda and Nola O'Brien (Robert) of North Vancouver, BC; as well as several nieces and nephews. Visiting with the family will be on Thursday January 15 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. At Fair Haven Funeral Home (8523530) 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton. Funeral service will be on Friday January 16 at 2 pm in the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home followed by a reception in the Family Reception Room of the funeral home. Cremation and interment will take place in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Acacia Lodge #49 F and AM will conduct a Masonic Memorial service at the funeral home on Thursday at 6:45 pm. Donations in Bill's memory may be made to the Shriners Hospital, the Moncton Headstart. The Moncton Public Library, a memorial of the donor's choice or do something for or with a friend in Bill's memory. Arrangements have been entrusted to Fair Haven Funeral Home.
