Carmel Ann McCarthy R.N. 1942 - 2004 MIRAMICHI, N.B. - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carmel. Born in Miramichi, Carmel was the daughter of Marie (King) Trevors and the late Clyde Trevors. She graduated from St. Michael's Academy and Hotel Dieu Hospital School of Nursing. Working at Hotel Dieu and Mount St. Joseph. She is survived by her husband Brian McCarthy; two sons, Brent McCarthy (Tammy), Miramichi, Joel McCarthy, at home; one daughter, Krista McCarthy (Larry Horseman), Miramichi; one grandson, Keegan McCarthy. Her mother, Marie Trevors; one brother, Edward (Kay); four sisters, Loretta, Miramichi, Eileen Doyle (James), Miramichi, Rosemary Rounce (Glen), Calgary, Sharon Somers (Danny) Whitney; several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father Clyde and infant sister Margaret. Carmel was a kind and compassionate person, living her life for the care of others, and for family and friends. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Maher's Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7 to 9pm and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 11am from St. Michael's Basilica, Miramichi, NB. Interment in St. Michael's Cemetery.
