At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Wednesday, March 4, 2009, of Raymond J. (Ray) Murphy of Charlottetown, age 85 years. Dear father of Bernetta (Vernon Cheverie), Ray (Susan) and Frank (Darlene). Loving grandfather of Kerry, Ray, Daryl, Sean, Chris, Erin, Lori, Ryan and Aaron. Lovingly remembered by his great-grandchildren, Sam, Robert, Elizabeth, Emily, Katie, Chelsey, Zoe, Finn, Kole, Brady, Haley and Brianna. Brother of Frank (Delta) and Joyce Clory. Predeceased by his wife, Diane (nee Gorveatt); by his grandson, Darin; and by his sisters, Mary, Rosella, Sheila and Helen. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 1:30 p.m. Interment later in People’s Cemetery, Charlottetown. Visitation Thursday 6-9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation. Charlottetown Branch #1 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service of remembrance at the funeral home Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m.
