Mr. Ralph Gilliss 1935-2005 MIRAMICHI, NB - Mr. Ralph Gilliss, husband of Marion Gilliss, of the North Napan Road, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Tuesday, January 25, 2005, at the age of 69. Born in Center Napan, he was the son of the late William and Freda (Neilsen) Gilliss. He was a retired forty-four year employee of the Northumberland Dairy. He was a member of Bishop Hill Council # 1219, Knights of Columbus, Miramichi. He was a member of St. Michaels Basilica, Miramichi. He is survived by his wife, the former Marion Sweezey; two daughters, Ruth Ann O'Reilly (Michael) and Evelyn Gilliss ( Bob Bruce), all of Miramichi; two sons, Paul Gilliss (Norma) and David Gilliss (Karen), all of Napan; seven sisters, Aletha Constable (Joseph), of Riverview, Ruth Clarke, of Toronto, Ont., Evelyn Davenport (Jerry), of Victoria, B.C., Isabel Smith (John), of Dartmouth, N.S., Arlene MacNaughton, of Upper Black River, Chris Sturgeon (Roland), of Napan and Pauline Myles (Terry), of Boom Road; two brothers, Harry Gilliss, of Boston, Mass., USA and Carl Gilliss (Elaine), of Miramichi; six grandchildren, Sarah, Nathan, Brendan, Emily, Sophie and Grace; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Joyce Dickson, Gladys Russell and Mildred Gilliss; two brothers, James and William Gilliss. Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Thursday evening, from 7 to 9 pm and Friday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Michaels Basilica, on Saturday, January 29, 2005, at 11 am, conducted by Father John Fraser. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery, later in the spring. Please note, members of Bishop Hill Assembly #1219, Knights of Columbus, are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Thursday evening to form a Guard of Honor.
