Maurice Richard 1955 - 2005 RICHIBUCTO, NB - Maurice Richard, 50, cherished father and loving husband, passed away at the Stella Maris Hospital in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent on Sunday, June 26, 2005 following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Bouctouche on February 4, 1955, he was the son of Corinne Richard and the late Lewis Richard. Maurice is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Joanne; his son, Samuel; and daughter, Karine, both at home; one sister, Roberte Dionne (Alain) of Sherbrooke, QC; two brothers, Louis-Robert (Majella) of Grand-Barachois and Jean-Charles of Moncton; as well as several nieces and nephews. Maurice had been the owner of Richibucto Convenience Store (Irving Mainway) for the past 19 years and had recently become the owner of Rexton Irving Mainway. Maurice dedicated himself to serving his community. He had been a Counsellor for the Town of Richibucto for a period of 6 years and had served as Deputy Mayor. He had been a member and President of ADELKENT-LEDA, was a member of the Richibicto Lions Club, Member and President of the Kent County Tourism Association, Member of the Richibucto Chamber of Commerce and Member of the Kent Economic Commision. Maurice loved his sports and was actively involved in his children's sporting activities. He managed the Kent Center Midget A Hockey team and he also played Hockey. Resting at Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto, with visitation hours on Wednesday, June 29 from 2:00 to 4:00 and from 7:00 to 9:00pm and on Thursday, June 30 from 5:00pm until time of funeral. A Funeral Service to celebrate Maurice's life will take place on Thursday, June 30, 2005 at 7:00pm at the Saint-Louis-de Gonzague Roman Catholic Church in Richibucto. Interment will be held at the St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bouctouche following the funeral.
