Terry Underhill
Terry Underhill 1946 - 2007 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Underhill, 60, on Friday, January 19th, 2007. He passed with his loving and devoted family at his side, bringing an end to his courageous two year battle against cancer. As with life, Terry faced the experience of his illness with an amazing attitude, strength and determination, and has been an inspiration to all who know him. Terry was born in Blackville on June 21st, 1946, the son of the late Millet and Beatrice Underhill (Kennedy). He worked as a machinist with CN for twenty-two years until changing careers, becoming an advisor with Mutual Life of Canada (later known as Clarica), a career he thoroughly enjoyed until his illness prevented him from working. He subsequently retired in June 2006. Terry was deeply respected by his many clients and colleagues, establishing friendships and relationships which he very much appreciated throughout the rest of his life. Terry was an active member of St. George's Anglican Church, where he previously served on Vestry and enjoyed two separate terms as Church Warden. He carried a great affection for his Church family. He received his CLU designation and was a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Round Table. He was previously a board member of the Moncton chapter of the Alzheimer's Society and served as a volunteer firefighter for the City of Moncton for twelve years. Terry is survived by and will be sadly missed by his loving and devoted wife, best friend and soul mate Lydia (Corney); his cherished daughter, Catherine Robertson and her husband Grant, of Halifax; his four brothers, Richard (Martha), Allison (Sandra), Allan (Faye), all of Blackville, Glenn (Glenda) of Alberta; his four sisters, Marilyn Nash (Sherman) of White Rapids, Marjorie Walls (Danny), Lois Newman (David) both of Blackville and Glenda Underhill (Rick) of Miramichi; and his many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Roseen Moody (1969); and brother, William (1975). Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visiting hours on Sunday, January 21st, 2007 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. The funeral will be held at St. George's Anglican Church at 1pm on Monday, January 22nd, 2007. A reception will follow in the church basement. Interment is in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
