Percy Gordon Corey 1932 - 2007 It is with great sadness that the family of Percy Corey, 74, announces his passing on February 25, 2007 after a brief illness of two weeks in hospital. Percy was born in New Canaan, NB. He was the son of Jacob Gordon Corey and Margaret Corey. Percy served in the R.C.A.F. and then became a public servant with the Department of National Defence. After retiring with 38 years of service, Percy worked as a consultant for DND for 2-3 years. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Norma; son Kim Corey; daughters Janice Parent Thorne (Dana), Marilyn Fournier (Fern), Elaine Corey and Karen Rivers (David); grandchildren Denis Parent (Michelle), Kendra Rideout (Trevor), Michael Sommerville; great-grandchild Emma Sommerville; brother Walter Corey (Lola); sisters Romayne Dickinson, Elsie Hawker (Hazen) and Owena Corey. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Evelyn Perry. A Funeral Service was held in Ottawa on March 1st, 2007. A memorial service will be held at the New Canaan United Baptist Church in New Canaan, New Brunswick on March 10th, 2007 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the New Canaan United Baptist Church.
