Dora May Brown
Dora May Brown 1912-2008 Dora May Brown finished her work here on earth on May 29, 2008 and arrived Home, at last, at age 95. Dora worked at Creghans for several years before becoming a teacher at Oultons Business College for 30 years. There, she influenced greatly and guided many young people who continued to remember her fondly during her years of retirement when she delighted in having boarders and caring for beautiful babies. Dora loved her family, the many gatherings, and feeding people. Her straightforward, unwavering faith and love of Her Saviour, Jesus Christ, her God given strength, peace of mind, and determination to keep going will continue to be an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. Though her body grew old, her mind did not, nor did her ready wit and her insatiable quest to know God more. As a long faithful member of McLaughlin Drive Church of the Nazarene, she held various positions over the years and was known and loved as a friend and dependable prayer warrior. The eldest of five children of Fred and Olive (Greer) Steeves, Dora was predeceased by her husband, Heber Brown; two brothers, Don and Ev Steeves; one sister, Bert Armes; a sister in law, Margie Steeves; and a brother in law, Allison Gerrard. She will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Freda Gerrard; her son, David Brown; chosen son, Mario Robichard; chosen daughter, Lynda Doige; one grandson, Randy Brown; two great grandsons, Andrew Brown and Travis Brown; as well as one sister in law, Freda Steeves and one brother in law, Vic Armes; and many nephews and nieces. There will be no visitation by her request; however, there will be a celebration of Dora's life at McLaughlin Drive Church of the Nazarene, 229 McLaughlin Drive, on Sunday, 1 June 2008, at 1:30 pm, followed by a reception, lovingly hosted by her Church family. In lieu of flowers, a donation to McLaughlin Drive Church of the Nazarene would be greatly appreciated.
