Alice MacPhail
Alice MacPhail 1938 - 2008 Marie Alice Veronica MacPhail (nee Murray) passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on the evening of June 24th, surrounded by her loving family. Alice is survived by her husband, Jeffrey, of Moncton; daughter, Marlene, of Halifax; sons, Evan and wife Mary-Eileen, of Halifax; and Sid with wife Debbie, granddaughter, Cassie, and grandson, Steven, all of Riverview. Alice's sister, Joan Krulick and husband Joe reside in Halifax. Alice was born in Pictou, Nova Scotia on February 10th, 1938 to John "Red" and Pheobe (Murray) who are both deceased. She attended the Stella Maris Convent School and later, Pictou Academy. Upon her marriage to Jeff, she began a lifelong adventure as a military wife and enjoyed postings to Greenwood, NS, Zweibruuken, Germany, St. John's, Nfld and finally Moncton, NB, where Alice and Jeff retired. They have resided in the Moncton area since 1980. Alice has had the pleasure of enjoying her grandchildren, Cassie and Steven who live in Riverview and goes on her peaceful journey as the only person to know the name of her newest grandchild, who will arrive in August to her son, Evan and wife Mary-Eileen. Alice's family would like to thank Dr Sharon Northorp and the nursing staff of the Moncton Hospital, 3600 Unit for their compassion and care during Alice's last days. At Alice's request, there will be no visitation. Arrangements are being made through McLaren Funeral Home in Pictou, NS. A Funeral Mass in Alice's honour will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday from the Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church in Pictou, Nova Scotia, with Father Peter MacDonald officiating. Interment will be in Stella Maris Parish Cemetery where Alice will rest with her beloved mother and father. A reception will follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, Alice would appreciate any donations made to a charity of your choice.
