Nancy Joy (Murray)Steeves 1953 - 2009 Nancy Joy Steeves,55,of Edgett's Landing passed away peacefully on May 4th, 2009 at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital with her devoted and loving family by her side. Nancy was born in Moncton on December 27, 1953 the daughter of Lester and Dorothy (Carter) Murray. She worked for the Department of Supply and Services in Shediac. Nancy was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, she was very proud of her family and loved them with all her heart, taking care of her family was her life's passion. She was a member of the Moncton Wesleyan Church, and a member of the church choir, having sang in the Living Christmas Tree for over 25 years. She was a member of the Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Nancy really enjoyed times spent at the Silver Sands Campground in Little Cape, she so enjoyed walking on the beach. Once you met Nancy you would never forget her, she stood out in a crowd with her great smile and hearty laugh. Nancy lived life to the fullest and she will be remembered for her great personality. She was truly a very special lady who will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. "Your gentle smile and generous heart will live with us forever". She will be deeply missed by her parents Lester and Dorothy Murray of Moncton and by her husband, Conrad Steeves of Edgett's Landing; her daughter, Amy Steeves (Stewart Wright) of Edgett's Landing and treasured grandchildren, Abigail and Jacob; brother, Stephen Murray (Nancy) of Moncton; mother-in-law, Norma Steeves of Edgett's Landing; brother-in-laws, Paul Steeves (Elaine) of Chilliwack, BC, Darren Steeves (Shelley) of Airdrie, Alberta and sister-in-law, Mary Woodworth (Dale) of Hillsborough; and by several nieces and nephews. She will also be sadly missed by all her friends and by her church family. She was predeceased by her father-in-law, Freeman Steeves; son-in-law, Scott Wilson and brother-in-law, Martin Steeves. She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service and celebration of Nancy's life will be held at the Moncton Wesleyan Church on Thursday, May 7th, 2009 at 4:00pm with Dr. Rev. L. Buckingham officiating and Rev. Jack Allen assisting . Interment will be in the Green Hill Cemetery, Edgett's Landing at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Department or to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
