WALLACE, GERTRUDE M. - Gertrude M. Wallace, of Miramichi, passed away at Ocean View Manor, Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia, on Wednesday, July 15th at the age of 95. Born at Oak Point, Gertie was the daughter of George and Ida (Hay) Bowie. She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil Wallace. She was a member of St. Michael's Parish, Miramichi, and the CWL. She is survived by daughter, Kathryn Mahoney (Kevin) of Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia; sons William (Elaine) of East Loon Lake, Nova Scotia and Ronald (Rachelle) of Calgary; sisters Winnifred Scott and Connie (Lloyd) Johnston of Miramichi; brother Ian (Pat) Bowie of Miramichi and grandchildren Meagan and Erin Mahoney, Michael Wallace, and Claire, John, Steven and Sean Wallace and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by sisters Muriel McLaughlin, Hazel Moran, Theresa Malley, and Grace Ewing, and brothers Raymond, Alvin, Guy and Edward Bowie. Special thanks are extended to the staff of Ocean View Manor for their outstanding care and compassion over the past ten years. Mrs. Gertrude Wallace is resting at Maher's Funeral Home, Miramichi, with visitation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm on Sunday, July 19th. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St Michael's Basilica on Monday, July 20th at 11am with Father John Fraser officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery.
