EDGAR MICHAEL MAHONEY

MAHONEY, EDGAR MICHAEL - It is with great sadness that the family of Edgar Michael Mahoney of Renous, NB announces his sudden passing on Thursday, November 5th, 2009 at the Moncton City Hospital, at the age of 62. Originally from Grand Falls, NB, Edgar was born January 17th 1947, to Francis and Gertrude Mahoney. He attended St Thomas University, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1972. During those years he met his loving wife, Anne Mahoney, whom he married on August 18, 1973. Together they have six wonderful children. Edgar had a lengthy career as a social worker, where he happily committed his time, good nature, and multiple talents to many people of the community. He had a special place in his heart for his clients, friends and colleagues at the Metepenagiag First Nation. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, gardening, sports and volunteering. An avid animal lover, he adored his three cats and his dog Prince. Edgar's compassion, love, humor, and heartfelt smile will be sorely missed by all who met him, especially his wife, and children. Edgar is survived by his wife Anne Mahoney, his six children, Michael, Matthew, Jennifer, Sean, Daniel and Caitlin, and his three siblings, Marilyn Davey (Owen), Anne Mulherin (David), Frederick Mahoney and several nieces and nephews.
