DR. DOUGLAS A. KEITH

KEITH, DR. DOUGLAS A. - 1946-2010 - Dr. Douglas A. Keith passed away suddenly at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, January 12, 2010. Born in Campbellton, son of Ruth (Miller) and the late Merle M. Keith, Doug graduated from Moncton High School and went on to earn a Degree in Pharmacy from Dalhousie University. He then decided to pursue a career in Medicine and graduated from Dalhousie Medical School in 1974. Since then Dr. Keith enjoyed a very large and successful practice. He was named a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians of Canada (FCFP) in 2004, was past president of the New Brunswick Medical Society and was committed to continuing education for both himself and his colleagues. He was one of the last family physicians to practice Obstetrics and couldn't count how many precious babies he helped bring into this world; each one bringing a smile to his face. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed the outdoors and spending time at the camp, "Breezemere II", on the Miramichi River with his father, his daughters and his best friends, especially "Uncle" Don and Chris. Doug had a real zest for life; he was a committed golfer, lover of music, cooking, "5-zies" and a good book. He loved to tease, laugh and tell a good (or not so good) joke. He will be greatly missed by his daughters Melanie (Robin), Jennifer (a.k.a. Niff), Jayme (a.k.a. "J"), Rebecca (Chris) and Stefanie (Rob). He had a very special place in his heart for his grandchildren Francisco and Elsa and the mothers of his children Gayle and Anne. A funeral service will be held at St. Paul's United Church, 404 Cleveland Ave., Riverview on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 2 pm followed by a reception in the Church Hall. Memorial donations in Dr. Keith's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton (506) 852-3530. A book of condolences may be signed at www.fairhavenmemorial.ca.
