KRAHN – Sarah Age 93: Born July 22, 1916 in Rosenort, SK. She passed away on February 28, 2010, at the Shaunavon Hospital and Long Term Care Centre in Shaunavon, SK. Survived by: Children – George (Mickey), Alvin (Diane), Danny (Bev). Grandchildren – Lonnie, Diane, Darren, Dwayne, Dana, Robert, Brad, Shauna, Chris and Barbara. Great grandchildren – George, Terry, Brandy, Reagan, Dylan, Rody, Dawson, Skylar, Aston, Hannah and Taylor. Great great grandchildren – Adrianna, Eve and Dayton. She is also survived by her sister Susan Wiebe and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by: her husband George Krahn in 1993 and one son Jake in 2003. Sarah spent her years in Rhineland, Swift Current, Beverley, back to Swift Current and then the last 11 months of her life in the Shaunavon Care Centre. She married George Krahn in June 1933 at the First United Church in Swift Current. Sarah worked at the Swift Current Hospital in the housekeeping department for 25 years and worked tirelessly to provide a clean environment for the patients. She retired in July 1981. Sarah loved gardening and baking and in the later years playing Skip-bo (quite aggressively) with her sister Susan or anyone she could get to play a game. The children remember the Mennonite cooking, sausage, varencki, various types of borsch, many varieties of cookies that she had baked and the bread and buns. If she knew you were coming to visit, she always seemed to have your favourite dish made when you got there. She loved her children and grandchildren and always was interested in what they were doing. Sarah spent the last 11 months of her life in the Shaunavon Care Centre where she enjoyed the staff and they enjoyed her. We thank them for the great care they provided to her during this time. Sarah had a very dry sense of humour and delighted many people with it. She will be greatly missed by all of us. A funeral service was held on Friday, March 5, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. from Trailview Alliance Church with John Regier officiating. The ushers were Pete Wall and Ken Wiebe. Pallbearers were: Brad Krahn, Darren Krahn, Chris Krahn, Cal May, Kevin Klassen and Ben Wiebe. The interment took place at Mount Pleasant Burial Park, Swift Current, SK.
