Clayton Hughes
The death occurred at the Summerset Manor, Summerside, on Sunday, March 7, 2010, of Clayton Joseph Hughes of Emerald, aged 80 years. Born on July 18, 1929, he was a son of the late Joseph Hughes and the late Fanny (Green) Hughes. Predeceased by his first wife, Norma (Curley) Hughes. Survived by his second wife, Margaret (McIsaac) (McIver) Hughes, and her family. Father of Francis (Dawn) of Emerald; Tom of Emerald and Brian (Kim) of Emerald. Also survived by a sister-in-law, Eileen (Greenan), nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Besides his first wife, Norma (Curley), he was predeceased by son, Ronald; grandson, David; brother, Spencer; and sister, Lorraine (Merritt) Callaghan. Remains resting at the Lawless Funeral Home, 21 Somerset St., Kinkora. Visiting hours Tuesday, March 9, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Wednesday, March 10 at St. Malachy’s Church, Kinkora with funeral Mass at 10 am. Interment later in the parish cemetery. Donations in memory of Clayton may be made to the Summerset Manor, Summerside or the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora.
