On Monday, March 1, Darren Joseph Murphy passed away at the age of 40. He will be sadly missed by his adored daughter Avery, estranged wife Melissa, and lovingly remembered by parents James and Emily Murphy, sisters Diane Rooney (Richard), Darlene Murphy, brothers David Murphy (Mae) and Dwayne Murphy, nephews Johnathan Rooney, Kyle Rooney, Joshua Murphy, and nieces Cindy Boissonneault (Billy) and Rhonda Murphy. Darren loved to put on his leather jacket and ride his Harley. But most of all he loved his little girl Avery. Born on Aug. 14, 1969, Darren moved to Edmonton in 1997 and went to work in the oil patch as a "roughneck". Through hard work and dedication Darren worked his way up to be a directional driller. He loved his work even though it often took him away from home for long periods of time. Darren enjoyed a good time and being surrounded by his many friends. He will be deeply missed for his fun-loving personality. Service to be held Saturday, March 13, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Church, Summerside. Refreshments to follow at St. Paul’s Centre.
